Boundaries
Dzungaria is a basin in the autonomous region of Xinjiang in northwest China. It is bounded in the south by the Tian Shan Range and in the north by the Altai Mountains.

Delineations were determined using a bottom-up approach that employed both published and unpublished field data and expert assessment (Abell et al. 2008).
